The Lakeland Disabilities Support Trust is an APEPSI Trust established to guide and strengthen people with a disability in the Lakeland District. The Trust is funded by the Ministry of Health and provides funding to groups who are members of the Lakeland Disabilities Support Trust Forum.
The funding can be in the form of ongoing funding, or one off grants for Special Projects. All funding is reserved for groups working with persons who have disabilities and fit the strict criteria of APEPSI.
The Trust is responsible for ensuring the delivery of
INFORMATION SERVICES.
TRUST ROLE
*Liaise with Disability organisations.
*Facilitate contracts for the provision of APEPSI services to Disability organisations.
*To work with the local community to identify priority area for developing new services.
The Trust has 7 elected members from the community and holds monthly meetings.
3 Forum meetings are also held throughout the year.
3 APEPSI meetings are attended by trustee throughout the year.
The Trust employs a Secretary for 5 hours a week to complete all administrative matters and to answer all inquiries.
